Tom Marshall graduated from Alma College with a BA in Fine Arts in 1976. After 30 years as a teacher in the Sault Sainte Marie Michigan public schools (23 of which he taught art) he retired in June of 2006 to become a full-time artist.

Tom has been the president of the Sault Area Arts Center's Olive M. Craig Gallery board of directors for ten years, helping to arrange and display the gallery's monthly exhibitions. He has juried several invitational shows and festivals, and  has exhibited in numerous individual and group shows, including two with his wife Kate.

Tom is a member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society and his most recent work is in this exciting medium. His artwork is in public and private collections in Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and England.

When not working in watercolors or pastels, Tom builds wooden boats and kayaks, and restores wood-and-canvas canoes. He enjoys sailing, fly-fishing, hunting, and just about anything else that takes him out of doors.
